The Moon and Your Sign

Updated: Mar 10, 2020

Greetings beautiful people! in acknowledgment of the latest full moon, the Snow Moon, I wanted to take the time out and discuss the power and impact of the moon. In psychological astrology, it is believed that the moon has a connection to our feelings, how we are loved, nurtured, provided spiritual and emotional security. I have always appreciated the power of the moon; it is a celestial body and no matter what your astrological sign is, the moon impacts it.

Fire Signs: Leo, Aries, Sagittarius

Water Signs: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

Earth Signs: Capricorn, Virgo, Taurus

Air Signs: Aquarius, Libra, Gemini

Each sign has its own experience with the full moon. With each phase of the moon, there is impact on our energy level and personalities. In research conducted by the University of New Orleans, 43% of the subjects who participated in the study believed that the full moon does influence behavior. Researchers at the Department of Experimental Therapy and the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy state that the full moon has an impact of fertility, human reproduction and menstruation. When one looks up to the night sky and sees the crescent moon, its points are to the left (the moon is at the cusp of growing fuller) and viewed as a period of growth and energy. Pointed to the right, it is the moon being past its fullness and now getting smaller-a time frame of decrease energy (this is not a bad thing).

The full moon of February 9, 2020 is referred to as the Snow Moon. In the world of the Zodiac, it is the full moon in Leo which brings elevated energy, courage, strength and the initiative to seek our greatest desires-this is especially powerful as Leo is ruled by the sun.

Whether you believe in the Zodiac implications of the moon, it can be said that a full moon does harness something. As a Cancer, I am ruled by the moon. My experience with the full moon has me at a space of connection; reminding me that life is made to be experienced, not controlled. The moon harbors an energy that is restorative; When I witness a full moon, I give myself an opportunity to reflect, take in all of my surroundings and reflect with a renewed sense of clarity...what impact does the moon have on you?
